Much of the work of the Taskforce On Waukegan Neighborhoods
involves researching the issues that affect everybody's quality of life
in our town. As we complete these projects, we make the reports available
here so that you can make informed decisions and take action. Our latest report is the result of hundreds of hours spent
analyzing the environmental data collected about the properties in the
Lakefront Redevelopment Plan, and provided by the City of Waukegan to
ULI and Skidmore Owings and Merrill.
The Taskforce On Waukegan
Neighborhoods, or TOWN, began as a grass roots citizens' movement in 1993. TOWN
has brought together more than 500 residents, property owners and business owners
in the City of Waukegan, Illinois. Incorporated as a tax-exempt nonprofit corporation
in 1997, TOWN has a proven track record of eradicating blight, slums, crack houses
and other public nuisances from Waukegan neighborhoods.
