We've added a section for timeless recordings that have great value as reference material. Our first entry is the recent training session (at the COSLA meeting of November 10th, 2005) given by Terri Mutchler of the Illinois Attorney General's office on the Open Meetings Act. Links to the actual Act and the Freedom of Information Act are included.

We're always interested in what you think we can do better. We've added a feedback page so you can tell us! There is also a link to this page in our menu on the left.

In addition to the interviews conducted before the School Board elections this spring, we are now making recordings of the public meetings of "Community Organizing for School Leadership Accountability" (the new Distict 60 watchdog group) available through waukTOWN radio. This group is not affiliated with TOWN. A link to the school board page is now in the menu on the left.

TOWN is extremely pleased to be able to bring our news and commentary to your ears as well as your eyes!

Thanks to the generous contributions of audio equipment and large amounts of time (along with a few dollars :) we now have the ability to provide "streaming audio". This has sometimes been called "internet radio". What this means is that when you click on one of the links below, the sound will start playing after a short delay (longer shows have a longer delay). You don't need to download the whole show before starting to listen to it.

We're not just about talk! If you're a musician and would like to get your indie music out to the world, just click here to find out how waukTOWN radio can bring you a little closer to fame and fortune!

If you cannot hear the shows, you may need to update your mp3 plugin. On a Windows computer, download Microsoft Media Player for no charge. On a Macintosh, download Quicktime for no charge.

If you have a request or suggestion for us - somebody that you think would make a good host (including yourself!), a subject you'd like to hear about, etc. - please contact us!

If you have a dial-up connection: Some visitors have had trouble with our shows not playing continuously. This is due to your phone company and is beyond our control. For every show, you can now right-click on the "download" button and select "Save Target As.." to download the file to your disk. You can then play it at your leisure. The size of the file is listed so you can estimate how long it will take.

You can burn an audio CD from your downloaded file to play in your car or give to a friend. If you don't have a CD burner we can make an audio CD and mail it to you for $4.00. Email us with your request!
