Soil (testing done in 1989 by Gabriel Laboratories for MCL Development who was interested in the redevelopment of the former US Steel property. The 1989 investigation was conducted on a parcel north and west of the Chicago Rubber Co. site. The samples collected may or may not have included samples obtained from the Chicago Rubber property.

List of contaminants found to date: Elevated levels of volatile organic compounds in soil including but not limited to: Trichloroethene (TCE) and Perchloroethene (PCE)

Do some or all of these contaminants exceed health or environmental protection standards? Yes
