Four schools in Unit District 60 were listed on the No
Child Left Behind list (Jack Benny Middle School, Daniel Webster Middle
School, Glen Flora Elementary School, and Gertrude Carman Elementary School).
These 4 schools were so chosen because the percentage of students meeting
and/or exceeding state standards on the ISAT in the spring of 2001 decreased
compared to the spring of 2000 ISAT scores. Although the percentage of
students meeting and/or exceeding standards at Carman increased from 35.7
to 37.6, the increase was insufficient to meet the Title 1 definition
of adequate yearly progress. The 5 remaining schools (Clearview Elementary
School, Greenwood Elementary School, North Elementary School, East Middle
School, and Robert E Abbott Middle School) showed an increase in the percentage
of students meeting and/or exceeding state standards for ISAT scores.
